It’s tough to blog every day when your life is boring. Got a letter in the mail from Delta High School providing back to school info that I read to Brittany and John. Then I played 3 sit and go’s, finished 8th, 1st and 2nd. By the time I finished playing poker it was after 8 and I still needed to cook supper. Italian sausage on the bbq, boiled pasta and heated mushroom Ragu. Bonapetit!! I’m trying to watch Prison Break now but missed the last show from last year and the start of this one tonight, so I’m a little lost. How come the female doctor was in a coma? Oh yea, I talked to Danielle for a bit while cooking, she thinks she’s going to be overdressed for Dan and Cherie’s wedding. The long range weather forecast is looking good for a great weekend!!
What is Bart’s middle name?

I just thought… I didn’t include a line from a Beatles song. How about I do a Simpson’s Trivia question, then Sam can play too.
What is Grampa Simpson’s first name?
Not much to say tonight. Weekend was just okay. It was nice to spend some time with Kevin Friday before he left. Met him before playing poker to lead a hand getting his tv up from the basement and put on his trailer. I complained the whole time about sweating and getting dirty hoping to make Kevin feel bad and then he’d stay. It didn’t work he left. I envy Kevin’s strength or is it his confidence to pack up all his belongings and leave the security of a familiar life to start anew. Maybe he just doesn’t like us. I felt very secure this weekend riding my bicycle both days. Didn’t get many miles riding but I did get in some visiting. Rode over to see Mike Barton, finally. Bill and Bonnie were just leaving as I rode up. We all chatted for a bit then Mike and I sat on his porch for an hour or so. I did ride past Gord and Barb’s house then back towards home because it started to rain. Rode slowly, under the trees, through Gage Park hoping it would stop, no luck. It’s no fun riding without fenders on your bike in the rain, the faster you ride the more the dirty water shoots right up the back of your ass. I slowly rode home had something to eat and slept for about 15 hours. I still love my sleep. Sunday I rode up to visit with Theresa, Wayne, Sam, Kohen and Terry or is it Alice. Timing was good for both Terry and I because Sam was on his way home and brought us all coffee. It was a nice visit with Kohen, he doesn’t cry as soon as he sees me anymore. Rode home and watched most of the PGA Championship ate my Chinese take out and was in bed before ten. As familiar as my weekend was I would have traded with Karl in a second. Did you hear he played Taboo on Sunday? I’m going to check his blog again for an update.

I love my sisters and I know they love me. Seems every time I come home there’s another phone call or message telling me so. I guess everyone has heard about Gord and Barb. About the only good thing to say is, no one was hurt. My heart and thoughts go out to them. My thoughts have drifted back to the day, I was playing hockey and we stopped to chase the firetruck back to…. OMG it’s my house. I stood in this crowd of people watching the flames shooting out the side of the house, along the walkway to the backdoor. I remember everybody staring and saying; It’s your house man, look your house is burning until a fireman noticed and then he started asking me questions. How many people in the family? Was anyone home? Do you have pets? For some reason I think the first night after the fire I slept at the Barr’s house but then went to the Dutton’s until we got our house on Dickson Street. How long did we live there? Seemed like only a couple of months and almost burned that place down too. Mom and Dad didn’t even have insurance!! Another good thing to say is Gord and Barb had insurance and from what I heard they were treated well and got a partial settlement the same day. If I paid for insurance I might want the name of their company. My strongest memory of that fire is standing at the front of the classroom when they presented me with money that was raised by the other kids. I think that one scarred me for life.
Number 47 said to number 3…
Did you know yesterday was the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death? I heard on the radio that he recorded over 800 different songs. Not a good one in the bunch. :o) ahuh huh Thank you, thank you very much. Who hasn’t done an Elvis impersonation in their life?

It was forty years ago today… No that’s not right, it was forty years ago today, august 17, 1966 the Beatles played Maple Leaf gardens. Check out the ticket price on that stub, what a deal. I was six years old.
When I get older, losing my hair, many years from now.

As I write this letter, send my love to you, remember that I’ll always be in love with you.
Was this one too tough?
The three things I miss most since my divorce are Danielle, the washer and the dryer. I hate laundry night. I’m lucky to have the Laundromat only one block down but if it’s packed (with the woman packed in their spandex) then I’ll pay for the wash’n’fold. The guy charges me $20 bucks for a hockey bag full. Not too bad, but it’s only about $8 if I do it myself. The same guy that folds my old holey stained underwear can also afford to play golf at King’s Forest. I saw him there when Sam and I played. He probably has a membership… lucky bastard!! Just a short one tonight, as they say, I’m between cycles.
My baby says she’s trav’ling on the One after Nine-O-Nine.
No cheating, KEVIN!!!

Hopefully this will work for you. On the left is Dr Angry, and on the right is Mr Calm.
Now, back away from your computer screen. This effect will work at different distances for different people, but you should see the two characters swap over...! As you come closer to the screen again, they revert to their original characters. Spooky or what!
When is the last time you had some good Fagottini, that’s exactly what John and I had for dinner last night. Fresh pasta Fagottini with garden vegetables, covered in garden vegetable primavera. The inner kid in both John and I came out when we spotted the pasta at Fortinos and just had to buy it…life goes on, bra (hehe). It was okay, not great. Not sure what’s on the menu for dinner tonight. It’s after 8 now so I’m just going to check the fridge. I checked the TV listing when I first got home from work and there’s nothing on, again. Played 2 sit and go’s on Party Poker, finished first and third. I’ve played enough on-line poker by now to know that you can almost fold your way to third place on every table. You just have to avoid those all-in morons at the start of each game. Anyway, my stomach is calling out to the fridge.
See ya

I’m going to try and update my blog more often, maybe daily. I’m feeling really optimistic right now so that might change. A journal of my exciting life with some cut and paste filler. You’re not going to get many pictures, only because I hate uploading pictures. If you’re still reading this, you’re pathetic!! Get your own life. So let’s catch up on my life as you know it. The needle on my gas gauge didn’t stay above “F” but it was on the F. I questimate that I rode my bicycle almost 80 km this weekend and zero k's on my car. Parked it Friday night and didn’t start it until Monday morning. That bike was the best investment I’ve ever made. I never did get over to see Mike Barton this weekend. I’ll call him tonight or tomorrow. I think John bought six new shirts for under $56 bucks. Old Navy had plain tee-shirts on for $2.99, he bought three. Washington Redskins didn’t play until Sunday night, but I still think it was a good decision to pass on the free Ti-Cat ticket. Theresa will be happy to know that I didn’t drink those five beers alone. I opened the first beer while I was barbecuing the pork rib’s, covered in Diana sauce. Kevin was there for at least half of that beer, so technically I didn’t drink alone. Sam and Todd finished off beers 2 through 5 after the game and wouldn't share with Tara. Sunday I rode through the residential area of Westdale. There are some nice old homes up by MacMaster. I sat on a picnic table to watch the boats getting launched and had a nice conversation with an old couple that were waiting for the Trolly. Did you know that the Trolly ride is about an hour round trip and only cost $2 bucks? I do now. Sunday evening was quiet. Got a call from Karl, we talked about golf for the most part. Went to work today. Left early by using the excuse I was dropping off film at Costco. Got gas on the way home, even though I didn’t need it. It was $96.5 and only squeezed $17 worth in. I’m back above the F. Stopped to grab $26 worth of groceries, did the dishes and caught up on my blog. Did anyone read the bomb that Kevin left as a comment on my blog spot? Who? What? When? Where? Why?
I want a love that’s right but right is only half of what’s wrong.

Turns out I didn’t get out for a bike ride as early as I first thought, stopped to do the dishes. Then my Mom called and we chatted. While I was on the phone Kevin left a message telling me he needed to let Sam know that he didn’t need Todd’s extra Ti-Cat ticket. So I called Sam and we chatted. Then I thought it would be a good idea to eat something before I left. So I ate, toast, oatmeal, banana and an almond bar. Finally ready for my bike ride. I started with a ride/walk through Gage Park keeping an eye out for Kevin and Terry. It was pretty crowded there, too crowded for pushing a bicycle through so I rode out to the beach strip. Actually the furthest distance I rode was to the lighthouse on the end of the pier at the lift bridge. Then back along the same route past Hutches, left onto highway 20, left onto King Street take the split to Lawrence Road, back through Gage Park and home again, home again. The most interesting thing to happen along the route was when I first started to ride away from the lift bridge. Normally when another guy starts a conversation with me while I’m riding my first thought is Moe!! I was peddling in a low gear, sitting straight up, flexing my free hand behind me because my hands go numb when I ride. This young 20 something, tanned, ripped, shirtless kid rides up beside me slows down and asked; “numb hands”? Now even if this good looking kid was gay I know that him asking an old guy like me for sex would be like throwing me a pity bone, so I felt safe. Anyway he continued on to tell me that I should consider an extension in my handlebars in order to sit higher or softer handgrips might also help. Then he said; “that’s my advice, for what it’s worth” so I thanked the polite young kid. He started to speed up again and popped a wheelie, riding along like that for 30 seconds or more. It was so cool. I swear if I wasn’t such a cycling-homophobe I would have sucked his dick. Sorry. Anyway I passed on the chance to see the Cats tonight. I’m going to stay home and watch the Washington Redskins in the exhibition game, hoping to see Jesse Lumsden play well. I’ve got a rack of pork ribs with Diane sauce for the bbq for dinner and might even finish the 5 beers left over from when Karl, Kevin and I went to witness Winnipeg destroy the Cats. I think the Cats will play much better against the Argo’s tonight. Oskee wee wee!!
You tell lies thinking I can’t see. This is a tougher song so there’s 25 bonus points for the correct answer.
You tell lies thinking I can’t see. This is a tougher song so there’s 25 bonus points for the correct answer.
Let’s play along.
How about I give you the first line of a Beatles song and you give me the second. Now your answer has to be exact to win the Canadian grand prize of 50 points.
As I write this letter, send my love to you, remember that I’ll always be in love with you.
It’s just after 11 and I’m off for my second bike ride this morning. My first was to Tim Horton’s for the large double-double and then a walk through Gage Park while I drank it. I arrived at the park to early, most of the vendors didn’t have their goods out. I did watch the Carnies, with their summer teeth (some are here, some are there) gather at the truck to collect their big bag of stuffed animals for the day. Then it was off to Mike Barton’s for a visit. I rode by, the front door was open but his kids weren’t outside playing so I didn’t stop. Maybe later today. I haven’t seen Mike since his Dad past away. My last stop was the bank to get some money. John’s going with Brittany for back to school clothes shopping. Thank God!! John is the worst person to shop for clothes with. One of the few times that I ever got angry with John is when we were shopping for a black tee-shirt for him and he couldn’t find one he liked. It was like 2 hours for a plain black tee-shirt people!!! Good luck Brittany.
See ya!!

I stopped for gas on the way home from work tonight. Couldn’t miss all the activity at the gas station, you’d think they were giving it away. 102.something a litre so I was able to squeeze $20 worth in and felt like I got a good deal. That needle should stay above “F” until Monday if I get out on my bike this weekend or check out Festival of Friends. The weather looks promising.
The Office episode where Michael has his leader”ship” motivational booze cruise was on tonight. I missed that one during the regular season. Michael handcuffed to the railing while Dwight is steering the boat… funny stuff. This is absolutely the best show on television right now. I wonder how long it will be before they have to jump the shark. I think with Friends it started when Rachelle and Ross first hooked-up, after that everyone started sleeping around. Was Ross the father of Rachelle’s baby?
The English army had just won the war. A crowd of people turned away, but I…
