Halloween night I stayed late at work just shooting the shit with Doug Fearnall (DF), he is my boss’s boss. DF is the Director of Remarketing Services (DRS) Ford Motor Company for Canada (FMCC). Technically DF works at a marketing company, Pareto Corp. (PC), but oversees FMCC senior employees like Vehicle Remarketing Area Mangers (VRAMS) that work at Canadian auto auctions (AA). I have learned when DF feels like talking, its best to just shut up and listen. Surprisingly the Ford Can-Am (FCA) program is alive long enough to get FMCC 2008 daily rental (DR) vehicles to the USA, but that’s it! That’s all!! Not too bad considering when I was hired in March 1999 to work for FCA they told me it would be for only 18 months, almost 10 years and three company’s later… I must have impressed DF enough my first time around because he has hired me twice in my FCA career. DF also told me that FMCC is developing new “black box” (BB) technology to help the VRAMS make good decisions on when or where to move FMCC inventory between AAs. The BB is a numbers-crunching machine to process and analyse multiple data sources like Used Vehicle Inventory System (UVIS) that support North American AA inventory. DF has a future plan for my employment at PC. I would feed the FMCC, BB a data link of current transportation rates, land, sea and rail. It’s not glamorous work, but pays the bills. Turns out PC is not a bad company to work for. PC is meeting all their financial targets so we should receive a nice big bonus (different BB) this year and PC also matches 50 cents on the dollar for RRSP investments. I think I can put up with the bitches for a few more years. Have I mentioned I hate working with woman? I know I mentioned how annoying those acronyms were in Shake Hands With the Devil. Am I right, or am I right?

I enjoy doing these stupid blogs more than watching tv, especially when the Leafs invent new ways to lose a game late in the third!! Looking forward to watching the Pats and Colts on Sunday, I’m sure Wayne will have it on during Sam’s birthday celebration because I cant miss the game of the decade!! Should also mention here I stopped to put a down payment on our fabulous European vacation, for Danielle and I, John’s not coming. Did someone say WTF?
