Friends

Can you tell I hit a sensitive nerve when I insulted Friends watchers? Honestly I watched the show for the first couple of years and thought it was funny. Like any show after a few years the writing gets stale. Does any one still watch the Simpson’s? The Ross and Rachel relationship was getting old so they started to create new romantic relationships between other cast members, but really all they were doing was rehashing the same material with different cast members. It was too much like a soap opera for me. I think the next thing that turned me off Friends was when the whole cast held out for huge raises. Smart on their part to stick together when demanding salary increases but by that time the show was no longer funny. I tried watching an episode of Friends the other night (Did you know Rachel was pregnant? Can I assume that the baby was Ross’s?) but didn’t find one line funny, even though the laugh track thought they were hilarious. Maybe it’s inside humour for long-time Friends watchers, I don’t get it. I think if the show continued they would have had every cast member sleep with each other, including Ross and Monica. The show should have been called “Sluts”, maybe I would have watched it longer. They would have been better off taking a page from Seinfeld and quit while the sitcom was still on top. Truth is I watch very little television these days because I think everything sucks. Besides sports, the only show that I make an attempt to watch on a regular basis is The Office. Still I know there are a few episodes of The Office that I didn’t catch. Personally I think the funniest sitcom, in my television viewing life, was the Mary Tyler Moore show.

How gay is that?

I have to admit, Friends was gay after the first couple seasons and I haven't watched the simpsons in years. Sports are #1. A good comedy now though is Two and Half Men. Its got a lot one liners that hopefully won't get old quick.

Friends was never gay. It didn't always provide the same level of comedy but was one of the tried and true comedys ever. Seinfeld could have gone out a couple years before it did. The show about nothing really was nothing at the end.

Everybody Loves Raymond is awesome. And so is The War at Home. Family Guy. American Dad. Sports rule.

To get my 2 cents in I watched Simpsons the first 2 years but not much after that. Havn't seen many of the other cartoon shows either but I know they are pretty funny. Two and a half men is a good show. Jean won't allow it on here. I never saw Everybody loves Raymond till its second to last year but I do watch reruns now. It is pretty funny. I love sports but just certain ones. hmmm this might be almost 10 cents worth.

Dan,

I have never seen Two and Half Men maybe I'll give it my cynical eye and mock you in a later blog for watching it. hehehe

After I published that blog I remembered another thing I hated about Friends... Pheobe. Anyone that dim-witted isn't funny. Someone should have slapped her and said smarten up stupid every episode.

Friends sucked. That was Kohen. Anyone that says anything bad about the simpson's sucks. Two and a half men is a pretty funny show. Almost all sitcoms should probably only be allowed to be on for no more than three years.

YESSSS THE OC!!!!!!
Going into its fourth season. I have to say tho that I watch Friends reruns STILL cuz they are on every night and even tho i know the funny stuff is about to happen it still makes me laugh out loud. Pheobe was super annoying most of the time and sometimes they made Joey too dumb but the rest were hilarious. Seinfeld sucked. I just want to kick Raymond right in the face most of the time. Not funny. And his brother...family guy and the office are hilarious
